Creating a Build Journal

The Build Journal is used to document the production of goods, ensuring that all components and finished products are accurately recorded in the inventory.

This lesson necessitates an already existing Bill of Materials. The SapphireOne Bondi Blue test file contains multiple examples, KITPACK~0 for example. The Bill of Materials lesson is a separate unit within the SapphireOne Implementation training course.

The steps are as follows:

  1. Navigate to Inventory > Inventory > Data Entry and select the Build Journal item. SapphireOne will display the Build Journal Entry screen ready for data entry
  2. In the Master Build Lines area, use the green + button or the Command / key combination, to enter the Inventory ID for this built item.
  3. Once the Inventory ID is entered SapphireOne will display the required Inventory Build Journal.
  4. Next enter the Quantity required. This will update the Quantities in the Build Lines area. This Build Lines area lists the Raw Materials used, including their Inventory IDs and Quantities.
  5. In the Tracking area enter the Order ID, Build Date and other items as required.
  6. Save the entry by clicking the green tick button on the main toolbar.
