Document Asset Valuations

The Valuation Journal allows you to alter the value of an asset, whether it is an increase or decrease, ensuring that your asset records reflect their current value. The steps are as follows:

  1. Navigate to Assets > Assets > Valuation Journal.
  2. Enter the exact Asset ID or use the “@” or “?” wildcards to search for the correct ID.
  3. Fill in Valuation Details:
    • Date – The computer will enter today’s date, which may be altered if required.
    • Tag – Enter a tag if necessary.
    • Int Ref – SapphireOne will automatically enter an Internal Reference number, which may be altered if required.
    • Ext Ref – Enter an External Reference number if necessary.
    • Period – SapphireOne will auto-fill the current period, but you can alter it if necessary.
    • Tax Code – Enter the applicable tax code.
    • Tax Rate – The tax rate will be displayed based on the entered tax code.
    • Change – Enter the movement in the Historical Cost, either positive or negative.
  4. Review all entered details for accuracy.
  5. Click Save to record the Valuation Journal.
